By using Haru, you agree to these terms. The key things to know: Haru is a cosmetic beauty tool only — not a medical device. It does not diagnose skin conditions or provide medical advice. You must be 16 or older to use the app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Haru application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Haru ("Haru", "we", "us", "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Haru. By using the App, you confirm that you are 16 or older. If you are under 16, you may not use the App.

You must also have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.

Haru is a cosmetic guidance tool only. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for professional dermatological or medical care. Results are for cosmetic and informational purposes only.

You may use Haru as a guest (with data stored locally on your device) or by creating an account with an email address and password. You are responsible for:

5. Haru Glow Subscription

5.1 What's Included

Haru Glow is a paid subscription that unlocks additional features including unlimited daily scans, weekly AI-generated skin reports, personalised product recommendations based on your scan data, face zone analysis, skin age estimates, before-and-after comparisons, unlimited AI skincare coaching, and streak freeze. Features may be updated over time.

5.2 Free Trial

New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. At the end of the trial period, your subscription will automatically renew at the applicable rate unless you cancel before the trial ends. You will not be charged during the trial period.

5.3 Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you select. Billing is managed entirely through the Apple App Store. The price is displayed before you subscribe and may vary by region.

5.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to Glow features until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by applicable law.

5.5 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with reasonable advance notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

7. Intellectual Property

The Haru app, including its design, code, content, branding, and algorithms, is owned by Haru and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your skin data (scores, scan history, profile) belongs to you. You grant us a limited licence to process it to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You retain ownership of any content you create using the App (such as share cards generated from your scan results).

8. Product Recommendations and Affiliate Links

Product recommendations in the Discover tab are generated based on your skin data. Some product links are Amazon affiliate links — Haru may earn a small commission if you purchase through these links at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence which products are recommended. We do not receive payment from brands to feature their products.

Haru makes no warranty regarding the quality, safety, or suitability of any recommended product. Always read product labels and consult a professional if you have concerns about specific ingredients.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

10. Limitation of Liability

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $50 USD if you have not made any payments).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Haru and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe continued access poses a risk to the App, other users, or us.

You may stop using the App at any time. If you have a paid subscription, cancellation terms in Section 5 apply.

On termination, your right to use the App ends immediately. Sections 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be referred to informal resolution by contacting us at haru@harubeauty.app. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally within 30 days, any dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, or in small claims court if eligible.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
